This recipe belongs to a cook named Upstatevoyager. He's not sure where the recipe name came from, but when I tried it I cut the chicken to resemble ribs, as you can see in my photo. I tried this recipe and loved it! The brown sauce on this chicken tastes just like the sauce in the chicken w/broccoli dish that you get at Chinese restaurants! The last time I made this I added sauteed broccoli and served it over white rice!

Ingredients For chicken spareribs

2 Tbspcorn oil

3boneless skinless chicken cutlets-cut into strips

1/2 cplus 1 tbls. water

1/3 csoy sauce

1/3 cbrown sugar

1/4 capple juice
-
2 Tbspketchup
-
1 Tbspcider vinegar
-
3 cloveminced garlic
-
1/2 tspred pepper flakes

1/4 tspground ginger
-
1 Tbspcornstarch
How To Make chicken spareribs

1In large skillet, heat corn oil.

2Brown chicken strips in oil.

3In bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple juice, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, red pepper flakes and ginger.

4Pour mixture over chicken.

5Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.

6Combine cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water.

7Add to skillet. Cook until thickened.
