Ingredients For chicken sloppy joes

  • 1 lb
    ground white meat chicken or ground white meat turkey, preferably organic
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2
    red onion, chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 can
    peeled tomatoes, no salt added
  • 2 Tbsp
    bbq sauce, organic
  • 1 tsp
    hot sauce
  • 1/3 c
    chicken broth, no salt added
  • 1 Tbsp
    poultry spice
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 4
    onion rolls, bakery or any favorite bun/rolls

How To Make chicken sloppy joes

    Drizzle olive oil in sauté pan, add chopped onion & garlic, cook for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add chicken breast, poultry seasoning and cook thoroughly breaking up chicken into small pieces while cooking and stirring occasionally

    Meantime purée tomatoes with juice, add remaining ingredients and blend well to make sauce. Pour over chicken and sauté together for 5 - 10 minutes.

    Slice onion rolls and toast.

    Scoop sloppy joe mixture onto roll. Add cheese if desired and serve.
