This was Daddy's recipe, he always put beer in his food! Always Miller-Light! In beer-rolls, gravies,gumbo's,sauce-pecan, Every=thing! May he rest in peace! passing on his recipe's with ya'll!!

Ingredients For chicken & sausage gumbo

  • 3 md
    celery-stalks
  • 2 lg
    onions
  • 3 clove
    garlic
  • 2 Tbsp
    evoo
  • saute over med heat till all is soft add 2tablespoons flour stir tii looks burnt pour in beer
  • 1 bottle
    miller-light beer, stir till thickens,
  • 1 box
    chicken-stock
  • 4 lg
    cooked chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 3 can
    mushroom pieces
  • 1whole pkg
    link-sausge cut in small slices
  • 2 can
    gumbo-style ocra & tomato's
  • 2-3 tsp
    salt & pepper
  • tsp
    to every bowl, add filet of gumbo spice at end of cooking
  • louisiana hot susace served with every bowl

How To Make chicken & sausage gumbo

    simmer on medium heat till you can shred chicken apart with fork. add chicken stock to keep thinned downed---Gumbo should be thin & dark! about 1hr--serve----mmuumm good! serve over rice!!!
