Ingredients For chicken n slippery dumplin's

2 cflour
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
1/4 tspsalt

3 Tbspvegtable shortening

1/2-3/4 chot water
-
4 cchicken broth
-
1 cwater
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
2 ccooked chicken (cut in med size pieces)** i often use a store bought rotissiare chicken

1/8 tspgarlic powder,optional

1/4 tsponion powder
How To Make chicken n slippery dumplin's

1Combine flour, bkg. pwd. & salt. Cut in shortening until mixture forms fine crumbs. Stir in enough hot water into flour mixture to make a firm but manageble dough. (the dough should be rather soft)

2Combine chicken broth & 1 c. water. Heat to boiling. Add butter, let the butter melt and float on top.

3Roll dough out on floured board to about 1/16" thick. Cut with knife into about 2" squares. Drop one @ a time into the gently boiling broth/water mixture. (Stir to prevent dumplings from sticking to bottom of pot) Once all the dumplings are added. Reduce heat to MEDIUM and cook about 15 minutes until tender. Fold in cooked chicken pieces...SALT & PEPPER to taste...Garnish with dried parsley. YUM! ENJOY! This is real down home "country comfort food!"
