This tasty Greek classic chicken gyros is quick and easy to make... the perfect summer dish when it's hot outside!

Ingredients For chicken gyros

3 lgcloves garlic, pressed

2 tspwhite wine vinegar

1/4 cfreshly squeezed lemon juice

1 Tbspextra virgin olive oil

2 Tbspplain greek-style yogurt
-
1 Tbspturkish or greek oregano (substitute regular oregano)

1/2 Tbspfresh rosemary, chopped
-
1 pinchground himalayan sea salt, or to taste

2 lgchicken breasts, cut into strips

1 Tbspolive oil
-
tzatziki sauce, to taste
-
4 lgpita bread (substitute flat bread)
-
1/2 csliced red onions, for garnish (lyonnaise cut)

1/2 csliced red peppers, for garnish
-
1 lgtomato, washed and sliced
How To Make chicken gyros

1In a Ziploc, mix all ingredients and add chicken. Marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours and up to 12 hours, massaging the bag once in a while.

2In a large skillet over medium-high, heat 1 tbsp. olive oil or brush the outdoor grill. Remove chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Cook chicken for 4-5 minutes per side or until no longer pink inside. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil; rest for 5 minutes. If desired, heat bread

3To assemble, place pita bread on a piece of foil. Add chicken and top with Tzatziki Sauce and sliced onion; add lettuce, sliced red pepper and tomato if desired. Fold pita over or roll into a “tunnel shape” and serve it with Greek Salad and drizzle with French Greek Salad Dressing
