A friend of the family, who used to entertain a lot, prepared this dish many times for guests. My family and I thoroughly enjoy it served with mashed potatoes.

Ingredients For chicken breasts with swiss cheese

  • 6 - 8
    chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    chicken broth
  • 1 c
    half and half
  • 3/4 c
    pepperridge farm stuffing mix
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • swiss cheese
  • oregano

How To Make chicken breasts with swiss cheese

    Arrange chicken breasts in oblong pan. Melt the first 4 tablespoons of butter in saucepan with 4 tablespoons of flour; add chicken broth and Half and Half. Stir well to get all lumps out. Cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly (stirring constantly). Sprinkle breasts with salt and pepper and oregano; pour all the sauce over the chicken. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes; lay a slice of Swiss cheese over each breast; sprinkle the dressing that has been mixed with the 4 tablespoons of butter over that; bake another 15 minutes. ENJOY!
