Ingredients For chicken and shrimp a la italiano

    chicken breasts
  • 1 lb
    medium raw shrimp
  • 1 stick
    margarine
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    oregano
  • 1
    bay leaf, crumbled
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 1 lg
    bell pepper, diced
  • 1
    stalk celery, sliced
  • 2 tsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1-2
    tomatoes, chopped

How To Make chicken and shrimp a la italiano

    Peel and clean shrimp, cut into bite-sized pieces. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.

    Combine salt, red pepper flakes, black pepper, oregano and bay leaf. Sprinkle half of mixture over shrimp, and half over chicken.

    In large frying pan, melt margarine. Add chicken and saute until it turns color; scoop out meat, leaving margarine. Add shrimp to same pan and saute until pink; scoop out shrimp.

    Add garlic, onion, bell pepper and celery in remaining margarine. Saute until tender. Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and tomatoes. Return meats to pan and simmer about 3 minutes or until heated through.

    Serve over cooked pasta of choice: spaghetti, fusilli, linguini, penne or rice. Top with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
