Ingredients For chicken a la king

2 ccooked chicken, chopped

2 Tbspshortening or cooking oil

¼ conion, chopped

¼ cgreen bell pepper, chopped

¼ ccelery, chopped

¼ csliced fresh mushrooms

dash each salt and pepper

1 Tbspbutter
-
1 Tbspflour
-
1½ cmilk
-
2 Tbsppimento, chopped

1 Tbspfresh or 1 tsp. dried parsley
How To Make chicken a la king

1In large skillet, melt shortening and saute onion, pepper, celery and mushrooms until tender. Remove from pan.

2Melt butter in pan and add flour to make a paste; gradually add milk and cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Add salt and pepper.

3Add chicken, sauteed vegetables, pimento, and parsley. Reduce heat and heat through. Serve over rice.
