This is my number one go to recipe whenever I am not sure what to make on the week days. My husband and daughter both love it and never complain when it is on their supper plates.

Ingredients For butter roast chicken

  • 1
    chicken, broiler-fryer (3 pounds), cut-up
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1/3 c
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp
    cayenne pepper

How To Make butter roast chicken

  • 1
    Place chicken in an ungreased 13x9x2 in baking pan. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until juices run clear, basting occasionally.
