Delicious butter chicken only using ground chicken instead of pieces of chicken.

Ingredients For butter chicken meatballs

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 md
    onion diced
  • 6 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated ginger
  • 1 Tbsp
    garam masala
  • 1 tsp
    each ground turmeric and kashmiri chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground fenugreek
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    chicken stock
  • 8 oz
    can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz
    can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • FOR THE MEATBALLS
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground chicken thighs
  • 1/2 c
    panko bread crumbs
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp
    curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How To Make butter chicken meatballs

    Preheat oven 425 degrees. To make the meatballs. Mix all ingredients together and roll into golf ball size balls meatballs. Place on parchment lined baking sheet and place in the oven for about 15 minutes.

    Meanwhile add the butter to a large skillet and let it melt. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook until translucent about 5 minutes. Add the garam masala, turmeric, chili power, fenugreek and brown sugar. Cook 1 minute.

    Add the chicken stock, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Bring to a simmer and simmer about 5 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream. Add the meatballs and cook for 5 more minutes

    Serve over Basmati rice with a side on naan
