I came up with this dish one day while I was looking in the pantry. There on the shelf was a jar of Paul Newman's Vodka Sauce and my mind started to create. I had taken some chicken out of the freezer and the crockpot out. I also spotted a can of Snappy Tom mix. Enjoy and let me know what you think. It can also be cooked in a 9x13 baking dish in the oven at 400 degrees for and hour. Enjoy and letme know what you think.

Ingredients For butch's drunken chicken

  • 2-3 lb
    of your favorite chicken pieces
  • 4-5 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 4 clove
    minced garlic
  • 3/4 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    carrot, shredded
  • 1 jar
    button mushroom
  • i c
    pearl onions
  • 1 c
    spicy tomato juice
  • 2 tsp
    crushed red pepper or to taste (optional)
  • 1 jar
    paul newman's vodka sauce

How To Make butch's drunken chicken

    Wash the chicken,then salt and pepper it. Place in a covered bowl in the fridge for 45 minutes to an hour
  • 2
    Place enough tomoato juice to cover the bottom of the crockpot
  • 3
    mix the veggies in a bowl and set aside
  • 4
    Take your chicken out and brown it in the olive oil and 2 of the cloves of garlic
  • 5
    layer the chicken and veggies in the crockpot
  • 6
    stir the remaining garlic and red pepper in the pasta sauce and pour over chicken.

    cook on high for one hour then lower the crockpot to low and cook for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over rice or your favorite pasta.
