Ingredients For bratwurst stew

2 jarsauerkraut, undrained

2 lbbratwurst, cut into 1/2

1 1/2 cred potatoes, coarsely chopped

1 lgonion, cut into thin wedges

2 - 14 oz. canchicken broth
-
1/4 cmustard, spicy brown
-
1/4 capple cider vinegar
-
1 tspsalt & pepper
-
1 tspcelery seed
-
4 - 6 cswiss cheese, shredded
How To Make bratwurst stew

1In a 5 - 6 qt slow cooker, combine sauerkraut, bratwurst, potatoes (bottom) & onion. In a large bowl, whisk together broth, mustard, vinegar, salt, black pepper & celery seed. Pour over all in cooker. NOTE: If you don't put the potatoes on the bottom of the crock pot - they will not cook totally through. I found that out the hard way (literally).

2Cover & cook on low heat setting for 6 - 7 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 - 3 1/2 hours. If desired, top each serving with cheese.
