These baked Buffalo Wings are awesome. Wonderfully tender and juicy, and the beautiful thing about this recipe is that you can control the heat without sacrificing the flavor. You can make them mild, like I did these wings for dinner last night, or you can make them fire breathing hot. However you choose to make them, you will still get that great Buffalo bite! The sauce is super good and so simple to make, and just adds another great layer of Buffalo flavor for the wings. I hope you will give them a try, because they are super easy to make, too! Enjoy!

Ingredients For bonnie's buffalo wings her way!

  • CHICKEN
  • 16 pieces chicken wings and drums, prepared and patted dry
  • SEASONING SHAKER
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons hungarian paprika
  • 1 ½ tablespoons onion powder made from dehydrated onions, coarse ground in mortar.
  • 1 ½ tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • DIP TO COAT
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup frank's red hot sauce
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS
  • celery and carrot sticks
  • ranch dressing
  • frank's hot sauce

How To Make bonnie's buffalo wings her way!

  • Prepared wings

    Prepare the chicken wing pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Mix spices together and season gererously

    Add the spices to a small shaker jar and mix well. Season the wings generously and rub it into the chicken. Set aside and let it rest.
  • Rack over foil lined baking pan.

    Cover a large sheet pan with foil. This is great for an easy cleanup. Add a rack and spray with kitchen spray. Preheat oven to 415 degrees, middle rack.
  • Melted butter and Frank’s hot sauce

    Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the Frank's Hot Sauce and whisk to combine.
  • Pour Frank’s hot sauce and butter over chicken.

    Pour the butter mixture over the seasoned chicken.
  • Coat chicken wings with mixture thoroughly.

    Toss the chicken pieces until the pieces are well-coated.
  • Place chicken wings on a sprayed rack.

    Place the chicken on the greased rack.
  • Bake at 415 degrees for 30 minutes each side.

    Bake the chicken pieces 25 to 30 minutes and then turn and bake 25 to 30 minutes MORE. (50 TO 60 minutes total time) Watch the first time you make this recipe because every oven is different.

    Make the simple sauce below. It goes so great with these wings! Serve with Carrot and Celery sticks.

    WING SAUCE Individual serving: 1/4 cup of Ranch dressing 1 1/2 teaspoon of Frank's Hot Sauce. Mix well. To make one cup of sauce: 1 cup Ranch dressing 2 tablespoons Frank's hot sauce. Mix well. Good with Buffalo wings, chicken strips and carrot and celery sticks.

    Mix until combined. The sauce will be a light salmon color. For more heat, add more sauce to taste. Enjoy!
