Got the recipe from Dutch Oven Cook Book. But I madesome changes. When I make there is never any thing left over..So very good.

Ingredients For bob's dutch oven calico chicken.

    cut up fryer chickens
  • 1/2 c
    flour, seasoned
  • 3/4 lb
    bacon
  • 1 c
    chicken broth
  • 1 4oz can
    mushroom pieces,drained
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley and thyme.
  • 2 can
    whole corn
  • 1
    chopped gereen bell pepper
  • 1 md
    onion diced.
  • 2 8oz can
    tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp
    hot sauce.

    In a large (12-14") dutch oven cook bacon till chrisp.Put flour in a brown papper bag add chicken shake to coat chicken..Remove bacon from oven and drain on papper towl,set aside...Brown chicken in bacon drippings,Drain fat from oven..

    Add tomato sauce and chicken stock,cover and simmer for 45 minutes..Remove lid,add corn,mushroom,bacon,onion,pepper, Parsley,thyme and hot sauce. Covet and simmer for abought 30 minutes more....I serve with wild rice.Or brown rice..
