Ingredients For blackened chicken

  • 2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 3/4 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 4
    boneless skinless chicken breasts

How To Make blackened chicken

    In small bowl, combine first 8 ingredients, set aside.

    Place chicken breasts between sheets of plastic wrap (or in a large plastic food storage bag), and pound to even the thickness (about 1/2 inch or a little less).

    Brush one side of chicken breasts with half of the melted butter and sprinkle with half the seasoning mixture. Repeat on other side of chicken breasts.

    Heat a large skillet over med-high heat. Cook chicken about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
