This is an easy and tasty Chop Suey recipe that I've had for many years. I serve over rice and under a sprinkling of chow mein noodles for extra crunch.

Ingredients For beef chop suey

  • 2 lb
    stew beef
  • 1 1/2 c
    onions, sliced thin
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c
    celery, diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 3 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 can
    mushrooms
  • 1 can
    bean sprouts
  • 1 can
    chop suey vegetables
  • 1 Tbsp
    corn start
  • 1/4 can
    water

How To Make beef chop suey

  • 1
    Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper and brown in oil. Add onions, celery, sugar, soy sauce and about 1 inch of water. Cook, covered until meat is tender.

    Add bean sprouts, vegetables and mushrooms. Combine cornstarch and cold water. Add to boiling mixture. Stir until thickened.
