    chicken thighs, skinless
  • 1/4 c
    fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tsp
    coriander seeds
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin seeds
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    paprika
  • pinch of chili powder (indian)
  • 1 c
    plain yogurt
  • red food coloring (optional)

How To Make baked tandoori-style chicken

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush the chicken meat with lemon juice and set aside for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, place the onion, garlic, ginger, coriander, cumin, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, and salt in a small food processor. Process until the mixture forms a smooth paste.

    Combine the spice paste with paprika, chili powder and yogurt - mix well until smooth. Add several drops of red food coloring until the mixture becomes a deep red color.

    Place chicken pieces in a plastic bag or shallow dish and spread the yogurt mixture liberally over the chicken. Allow chicken to marinate for a few hours or overnight.

    Place chicken on a wire rack over a large baking pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until the chicken pieces are tender and fully cooked through.
