I've been making this since the first week I was married. Back then I actually made my own pasta sauce. Now I usually get a jar. But it's good either way.

How To Make baked chicken parmesan by susan
-
1Wash and dry the chicken breast halves. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a shallow baking dish that will just hold the chicken, placed close together. Place 3/4 cup of the parmesan cheese in a shallow plate and stir in the Italian herbs.
-
2Press the chicken breast halves one at a time into the parmesan cheese coating, on both sides, getting a fine layer of cheese to stick. Place chicken breasts in the baking dish. Sprinkle any leftover coating on top of chicken breasts.
-
3Pour the pasta sauce evenly over the chicken breasts. Then, sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese evenly over top of chicken breasts. Finally, top with the shredded mozzarella.
-
4Bake for 35-40 minutes, until juices run clear. Serve with pasta of your choice and a nice green salad. Italian bread is good, too. I recommend my https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/bread/savory-bread/susans-herbed-italian-bread.html?p=1.
