3-3 1/2 lbbroiler-fryer, cut up

1 cansliced mushrooms, undrained (4 oz)

1 cburgundy or other dry red wine

1/4 csoy sauce

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1 Tbspolive oil

1 tspground ginger

1/4 tspgarlic powder

1/4 tsponion powder

1/4 tspdried whole oregano

hot cooked rice
How To Make baked chicken "coq au vin"

1Place the cut-up chicken in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish

2Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Add enough water to the liquid to equal 1/4 cup. Combine mushrooms, liquid, wine, and next 7 ingredients in a jar. Cover tightly and shake vigorously Pour the mushroom mixture over the chicken.

3Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until the chicken is done. Serve with rice.
