This family favorite for a busy night is a mash-up of different recipes from the early 2010s, but over the years we simplified it to this. Try it for your next Taco Tuesday dinner. It will be a hit! It’s also delicious as an appetizer for game day. =^..^=

Ingredients For taco ring

  • 1 lb
    ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning (about 3 Tbsp)
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 2 can
    refrigerated crescent rolls
  • some
    shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS
  • shredded lettuce
  • finely diced tomatoes
  • salsa or picante sauce
  • sour cream
  • sliced black olives
  • finely diced onion
  • more shredded cheese
  • sliced or diced jalapeños
  • pickled red onion slices

How To Make taco ring

  • Browning ground beef

    Preheat oven to 375° F. Brown ground meat in skillet, stirring and crumbling, until browned. Drain any grease.

    Add taco seasoning and water to the browned meat. Simmer over medium heat until it’s slightly thickened, stirring often. If you want, you can add some shredded cheese now and stir until it melts in the taco meat mixture. While the meat is browning, then cooking, work on Step 3.

    Arrange the 16 crescent triangles around the outer edge of a pizza pan with the short sides overlapping and the points off the edge of the pan. (See the photo on Step 4.) To help with spacing, I put 4 crescents north, south, east, and west, then fill in with 3 crescents in each open space.

    Add the taco meat in a circle on the widest part of the ring, then add shredded cheese over the meat, if you want. Finally, flip the point over to the center.

    Bake at 375°F. for about 10 minutes, checking early if your oven runs hot. The crescent ring should be GBD (golden brown & delicious)!

    Remove the taco ring from the oven and slice with a pizza cutter. Serve with your choice of toppings.

    Keeping it real, we usually open the top on the taco ring slice and stuff the toppings in. It’s messy, but delicious. =^..^=
