For the hot dog fans in Seattle, I created this new casserole recipe filled with ingredients like sauteed banana peppers, vidalia onion, cream cheese, jalapenos, and sliced kielbasa sausage.

Ingredients For seattle dog casserole

3banana peppers, sliced

1vidalia sweet onion, peeled and sliced

3 Tbsppickled jalapeno juice

1/2 csriracha
-
1 lbdry ziti pasta
-
1 lbkielbasa sausage, sliced diagonally

2 Tbspcanola oil
-
2 tspcrushed red pepper flakes

8 ozcream cheese, softened
-
8 ozmonterey jack cheese, shredded and divided

1 ccrumbled cooked bacon
-
1 cpickled jalapeno slices
How To Make seattle dog casserole

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2To a large skillet over medium-low heat, add the sliced banana peppers and sliced vidalia onion. Saute for 5 minutes, stir in jalapeno juice and sriracha, and saute again for 3 minutes. Put them in a medium bowl and set aside.

3Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

4In a same skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage in canola oil until browned on both sides, for 5 minutes. Season with red pepper flakes.

5In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese and crumbled bacon and mix it until blended; set aside.

6In a large bowl, combine ziti pasta, banana pepper/onion mixture, and sausage and cream cheese mixture; mix well. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Topped with jalapeno slices and sprinkle with remaining shredded monterey jack cheese.

7Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes more, or until the top is golden.
