This new baked macaroni recipe I created is filled with sliced leftover turkey, Italian sausage, extra sharp cheddar cheese and a delicious bacon and swiss alfredo sauce.

Ingredients For meaty alfredo baked macaroni

  • 1 c
    shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb
    dry elbow macaroni
  • 1 Tbsp
    avocado oil
  • 3 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 5 c
    leftover roasted turkey (skin on)
  • 1 lb
    sweet Italian sausages, sliced 1/2-inch thick
  • 6
    pepperoncini peppers, seeded and sliced
  • 1 lg
    carrot, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 Tbsp
    Dijon mustard mixed with brown sugar
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1 jar
    refrigerated alfredo sauce
  • 1 c
    shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 c
    crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 c
    shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make meaty alfredo baked macaroni

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • 2
    Coat a 9x9 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add shaved Parmesan cheese; spread evenly.

    Bring a medium saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.

    Heat the avocado oil and crushed red pepper flakes in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

    Add sliced turkey, sliced Italian sausages, sliced pepperoncini peppers and chopped carrot, cook and saute for 6 minutes until are browned.

    Reduce to low heat.

    Stir in the garlic and herb seasoning, ground cumin, and Dijon mustard/brown sugar mixture; continue to saute for 3 minutes.

    In a medium bowl, combine the heavy cream, cream cheese, alfredo sauce, shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled bacon; whisk together for 3 minutes until blended.

    Add cooked macaroni and alfredo sauce mixture onto the turkey/sausage mixture and mix together until combined. Remove from heat.

    Spoon into the prepared baking dish evenly. Sprinkle with extra sharp cheddar cheese.

    Bake for 35 minutes or until the casserole is set. Cool completey for 10 minutes.
