The third recipe I created for my new chicken and waffles series is a hot one. Sweet waffles on the bottom and hot honey chicken on top, you're gonna need a large glass of milk to go along with it.

8frozen square waffles, thawed

6 lgeggs

2 cheavy cream, divided

3/4 cpure cane syrup

2 Tbspavocado oil
-
1 bagfrozen popcorn chicken

1 Tbspmargarine
-
1 Tbsphoney
-
1 TbspTabasco sauce
-
1 Tbspapple cider vinegar
-
2 Tbspcrushed red pepper flakes

2 tspsea salt mixed with black pepper

2 Tbspranch seasoning
-
8 ozcream cheese, softened
How To Make hot honey chicken and waffles casserole

1Toast the waffles according to package directions.

2Whisk the eggs,1 cup heavy cream and cane syrup together in a large bowl until combined. Cut the toasted waffles into bite-size pieces with kitchen shears.

3Add to the egg mixture and mix well. Cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate for 4 hours.

4Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly coat a 13-x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

5After 4 hours, spoon the egg/waffles mixture into a greased baking dish evenly. Set aside.

6Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the popcorn chicken and cook for 5 minutes or until tender.

7Heat the margarine in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add honey, Tabasco sauce, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes and sea salt/black pepper; stir together until blended.

8Reduce to low heat and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool completely for 10 minutes.

9In a medium bowl, whisk remaining heavy cream, ranch seasoning, cream cheese and cooled hot honey together for 3 minutes until combined. Stir in cooked popcorn chicken.

10Spoon hot honey chicken mixture evenly onto the waffles mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or until set. Cool at least 6 minutes.
