Ingredients For hamburger chowmein hotdish

  • 1 1/2 lb
    hamburger
  • 2 c
    celery chopped
  • 1
    onion chopped
  • 1 can
    bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 can
    sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 2 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 c
    long grain rice, cooked
  • 4 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    molasses, optional
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chow mein noodles, for garnish

How To Make hamburger chowmein hotdish

    Preheat oven to 350° F. Greased 2 quart casserole dish
  • 2
    Cook rice according to directions on package.
  • 3
    In a heavy skillet, brown ground beef with onions and celery, and then in a prepared casserole dish, mix together cooked rice, browned ground beef mixture, canned soups, canned sprouts, canned water chestnuts, soy sauce and molasses.

    Cover the dish and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and add chow mein noodles. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
