A fifth recipe of garlic Parmesan creation. This time it's a pizza casserole, filled with fusilli pasta, pepperoni, real bacon bits and garlic Parmesan sauce.

1 3/4 cgrated Parmesan cheese, divided

1 ccrumbled cooked bacon
-
10 ozuncooked fusilli pasta

2 Tbspolive oil
-
8 ozwhite mushrooms, sliced

1 lblean ground beef
-
1 mdvidalia sweet onion, peeled and diced

2banana peppers, sliced
-
2 clovegarlic, finely minced
-
2 tspdried basil
-
2 tspcrushed red pepper
-
1 bottlegarlic Parmesan sauce
-
2 cansliced ripe olives, drained (2.25 oz)
-
6 ozpepperoni, sliced
-
2 cshredded pizza cheese blend, divided
-
1 Tbspsea salt mixed with black pepper
How To Make garlic parmesan pizza casserole

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Add 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese and crumbled bacon bits; mix well.

2Cook fusilli pasta according to package directions. Drain well and set aside.

3Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and remaining grated Parmesan cheese. Saute for 5 minutes until golden brown. Remove to a plate and set aside.

4Add ground beef and sliced vidalia onion to the skillet and cook, stirring for 8 minutes or until the onion is translucent.

5Stir in chopped banana peppers and minced garlic and continue cooking until the beef is no longer pink. Drain and discard excess grease.

6Combine dried basil, crushed red pepper, garlic Parmesan sauce, olives, pepperoni and reserved cooked mushrooms; stir well.

7Let it simmer for 6 minutes. Season with sea salt/black pepper as needed.

8Add cooked fusilli pasta. Toss to blend thoroughly.

9Spoon half of the pasta mixture into a prepared baking pan. Top with half of shredded pizza cheese blend. Repeat layers.

10Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted.
