This fun and easy Frito Pie combines taco seasoned ground beef, beans and salsa style tomatoes all topped with cheddar, Monterey Jack and crispy crunchy Fritos. For even more deliciousness add your favorite toppings like tomatoes, black olives, green onion, avocado or sour cream.

Ingredients For frito pie

1 1/2 lbground beef

1medium onion chopped

3cloves garlic minced

4 Tbsptaco seasoning

1 1/4 cwater
-
1 csalsa style tomatoes
-
1can (15 ounce) kidney beans drained and rinsed

5 cfrito chips
-
1 ccheddar cheese shredded
-
1 cmonterey jack cheese shredded

1 csliced grape tomatoes (optional)
-
2/3 csliced black olives (optional)

2green onions chopped (optional)
-
sour cream (optional)
How To Make frito pie

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9×13 inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

2In a large skillet over medium heat brown ground beef. When ground beef is almost browned add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute; stirring constantly. Drain excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Add salsa style tomatoes and kidney beans; stir to combine. Spoon into prepared baking dish.

3Top with Frito chips, shredded cheddar and shredded Monterey Jack.

4Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is fully melted. Top with tomatoes, black olives, green onions and sour cream if desired.
