I created this delicious pizza casserole recipe based on a fried chicken pizza I made.

Ingredients For fried chicken pizza casserole

  • 1 c
    cubed processed American cheese
  • 1 lb
    dry angel hair pasta
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1 lg
    vidalia sweet onion, peeled and diced
  • 18
    frozen all-white meat chicken strips
  • 3 Tbsp
    pizza seasoning, divided
  • 1 c
    pizza sauce
  • 1 c
    honey mustard
  • 3
    banana peppers, sliced
  • 8 oz
    sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 c
    grated Parmesan cheese

How To Make fried chicken pizza casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat the bottom and sides of a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add cubed American cheese.

    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the angel hair pasta in boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes.

    Drain the water and transfer the angel hair pasta to the prepared baking dish. Season with 1 tablespoon pizza seasoning and mix well.

    Heat the olive oil and margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the diced vidalia onion and chicken strips. Saute for 6 minutes until tender. Remove from heat. Slice the chicken strips and return to the pan. Stir in 1 tablespoon pizza seasoning.

    In a large bowl, combine the pizza sauce, honey mustard, sliced banana peppers and remaining pizza seasoning; whisk together until blended and smooth.

    Pour over the angel hair pasta. Add chicken strip-onion mixture and mix well.

    Sprinkle with shredded sharp cheddar and Parmesan cheese.

    Bake in the preheated oven about 30 minutes or until the cheese are bubbling.
