I created this new lasagna recipe. It's crazy style, filled with a beef mixture, ricotta cheese, and a delicious sauce.

Ingredients For crazy style lasagna

    dry lasagna noodles
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2
    banana peppers, sliced
  • 1 md
    purple onion, chopped
  • 2 md
    carrots, diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    steak seasoning, divided
  • 1 Tbsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 1
    carton ricotta cheese
  • 3/4 c
    grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 8 oz
    Monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • CRAZY STYLE SAUCE
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    spicy barbecue sauce
  • 4 tsp
    pickled jalapeno liquids
  • 3/4 c
    steak sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    creole seasoning
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pickled jalapenos
  • 1 Tbsp
    sea salt mixed with black pepper

How To Make crazy style lasagna

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

    To make the lasagna, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions; drain.

    Heat the olive oil and crushed red pepper flakes in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the ground beef, sliced banana peppers, chopped purple onion, and diced carrots and cook for 8 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender.

    Season with 2 Tbsp steak seasoning and the brown sugar. Continue to cook the mixture for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

    In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg whites and remaining steak seasoning; whisk well until blended. Set aside.

    To make the crazy style sauce, combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes until blended.

    Spread 1/2 cup crazy style sauce into a greased 13x9-inch baking dish. Layer with three lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and half the beef mixture. Spread 2/3 cup crazy style sauce and sprinkle with 1 cup Monterey jack cheese.

    Repeat all the layers. Top with remaining lasagna noodles and cheese sauce. Sprinkle with remaining Monterey jack cheese.

    Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes or until bubbly and the top is golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
