This new duck casserole recipe I created is inspired by the recipes of Crazy Style. It's so crazy delicious.

Ingredients For crazy style duck casserole

  • CASSEROLE
  • 1 c
    seasoned salad croutons
  • 8 oz
    gouda cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 4 Tbsp
    grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 16 oz
    uncooked angel hair pasta
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    cane sugar
  • 5
    duck breasts (skin-on), sliced thick
  • 2 md
    shallots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 md
    carrot, diced
  • 1
    packet dry onion soup mix
  • 3 Tbsp
    creole mustard mixed with brown sugar
  • 6
    American cheese slices, unwrapped and cut in half
  • CRAZY STYLE SAUCE
  • 1 c
    heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4 c
    sweet and spicy barbecue sauce
  • 4 tsp
    pickled jalapeno liquids
  • 7
    duck sauce packets
  • 1 Tbsp
    creole seasoning
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    chopped pickled jalapenos

How To Make crazy style duck casserole

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add salad croutons, cubed gouda cheese and grated Parmesan cheese; mix well.

    Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions; drain.

    Heat olive oil and cane sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add sliced duck breasts, chopped shallots and diced carrots. Begin to saute for 6 minutes until the duck and vegetables are well tender and caramelized. Stir in onion soup mix and creole mustard/brown sugar.

    To make Crazy Style Sauce, combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes until blended. Set aside.

    Add cooked angel hair pasta and crazy style sauce, mix well and let it simmer for 3 minutes or until are blended.

    Spoon into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Top with half the American cheese slices and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.

    Bake for 30 minutes or until the casserole is golden brown. Cool completely for 10 minutes.
