chinese buffet crab casserole

This casserole is my version of one of my favorite choices at our local Chinese buffet. I know some people don't care for imitation crab, but if you do, I think you'll really like this casserole.

Ingredients For chinese buffet crab casserole

  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • a dash
    lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp
    fine pink himalayan salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c
    celery, thinly sliced
  • 16 oz
    imitation crab meat
  • 1/4 c
    shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 tsp
    snipped chives for garnish (optional)

How To Make chinese buffet crab casserole

  • Ingredients for crab casserole.

    Gather and prep ingredients. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Beaten cream cheese, mayo and sour cream.

    In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Beaten cream cheese, mayo and sour cream.

    Add sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, worcestershire sauce, a few drops of lemon juice (if using,) garlic, salt and sugar. Beat until fairly smooth.
  • Adding green onions to creamed mixture.

    Stir in the green onions and celery; mix well.
  • Imitation crab stirred into mixture.

    Stir in the imitation crab meat.

    Spread the mixture in an 8"x8" greased baking dish.
  • Crab casserole topped with cheese, ready for oven.

    Sprinkle top with cheeses.
  • Baked crab casserole.

    Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  • Baked crab casserole with a serving removed.

    Garnish with chives if desired. Serve hot or warm. Promptly cover and refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days. Gently rewarm individual portions in microwave on half power.
