I created this recipe to be a new kind of chicken Parmesan using chicken tenders.

Ingredients For chicken tender parmesan casserole

    shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 md
    tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 16 oz
    uncooked rotini pasta
  • 6 tsp
    Italian seasoning, divided
  • 1 c
    grated romano cheese
  • 1 bag
    frozen (all-white meat) chicken tenders
  • 1 pkg
    shredded pizza cheese blend, divided (16 oz)
  • 1 jar
    marinara sauce (32 oz)
  • 3/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 c
    grated Parmesan cheese, divided

How To Make chicken tender parmesan casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat the bottom and sides of a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add shaved Parmesan cheese and diced tomatoes; mix well.

    Cook rotini pasta according to package directions; drain. Transfer to a medium bowl. Add 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning and grated romano cheese; mix well until blended. Set aside.

    Place chicken tenders in the baking sheet. Bake for 6 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely for 8 minutes. Sliced into 1/2-inch pieces.

    Combine cooked rotini pasta mixture, sliced chicken tenders, 1/2 package shredded pizza cheese blend and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese in a large bowl.

    Stir in marinara sauce. Pour the heavy cream and add garlic powder and remaining Italian seasoning into the empty marinara sauce jar; cover and shake the jar and empty the contents into the rotini pasta mixture.

    Stir to combine. Pour into a prepared baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and sprinkle with remaining shredded pizza cheese blend and parmesan cheese.

    Return to the oven and continue baking for 30 minutes until the cheeses are melted. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
