Ingredients For frankenburger

  • 1 md
    onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    chili powder divided
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1
    10 3/4 oz can tomato soup
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    each salt and cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 6
    hot dogs split lengthwise
  • 12
    hot dog buns
  • pickle slices for serving
  • 6 slice
    cheese cut in half
  • condiments for hot dogs.

How To Make frankenburger

    In a saucepan saute the onion with half the chili powder and butter until onion is tender. Add 2/3 of the soup, brown sugar, and vinegar. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile in a large bowl combine the salt, remaining chili powder and remaining tomato soup. Mix in the ground beef and shape into 12 patties. Press a hot dog into the middle of each patty.

    Place the patties hot dog side down in skillet and cook flipping until the hamburger is no longer pink. Place a half slice of cheese on each hot dog let melt a bit.

    Serve in bun with sauce over top and top with condiments of choice
