I love this on a chilly night! It calls for consomme, but I find that too strong and rather salty, so I use broth. You can use whichever you prefer.

Ingredients For wine and beef casserole

1 lbstew beef

1/2 cburgundy or any dry red wine

1 canconsomme or beef broth

3/4 tspsalt

1/4 Tbsppepper
-
1/4 cgood quality bread crumbs

1/4 cflour, sifted

1medium onion, sliced
How To Make wine and beef casserole

1combine beef, wine, broth, s&p and onion. Mix flour with breadcrumbs and stir into the meat mixture.

2Cover and bake at 300 degrees for (approx) 3 hours
