Ingredients For western bbq meatballs

1 tbsp.butter or cooking oil

3/4 cupraw minced onion

1 cupboiling water

1 cupketchup
-
1oxo cube
-
1/2 cupdark molasses
-
1/4 cupbrown sugar, firmly packed

2/3 cupwhite vinegar
-
2 tspdry mustard
-
1/2 tspsalt and pepper
-
dash of cayenne
- WESTERN BBQ SAUCE
-
1 clovegarlic quartered
-
3 tbspbutter or cooking oil

2 lbsground beef
-
2 eggsbeaten
-
1 cupmilk
-
2 cupsfine dry bread or cracker crumbs

1 tspsalt

1/2 tspmace and selery seed

1 tspblack pepper

How To Make western bbq meatballs

1To make meatballs: Combine meat, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs and seasonings. Shape into bite-size balls and set aside. Over very low heat, saute garlic in butter until pieces are tender but not browned. Discard garlic. Brown meatballs on all sides and add to to Western BBQ Sauce. Simmer until thickened about 1 1/2 hours. Serve hot. Makes about 60 meatballs.

2To make Western BBQ Sauce: Saute onion in butter. Dissolve OXO Beef Cube in boiling water; stir into the onion. Add ketchup and remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add the meatballs and continue to simmer as noted. Serve on a bed of rice or with a tossed salad. I welcome any comments.
