This comforting casserole is made even easier by placing potato slices on the bottom. This is a very forgiving recipe, so feel free to adjust the veggies, soup mix, cheese and steak sauce to suit your family's preferences.

Ingredients For upside down shepherd's pie

4potatoes, sliced

1 lblean ground beef

1onion chopped

2 Tbspall purpose flour

1 Tbspbeef or french onion soup mix

1 cwater
-
1/2 cfrozen peas
-
1/2 cfrozen corn
-
2 tspsteak sauce or a1 sauce

1/2 cgrated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, whatever you like!)
How To Make upside down shepherd's pie

1Wash and sice potatoes medium thick. No need to peel them. Place in bottom of a 2 quart casserole.

2Brown the ground beef in frying pan. Add in the onions and stir fry until soft. Sprinkle with flour and dry soup mix and stir fry 2 minutes over medium heat. Add steak sauce and water and stir until bubbly.

3Add the veggies and mix into the beef mixture.

4Pour meat mixture over the potatoes (salt & pepper the potatoes before this step). Top with grated cheese of your choice. I use Cheddar.

5Bake covered at 350 for about an hour, or until potatoes are tender when stuck with the tip of a knife.
