I don't eat red meat often but when I do,I enjoy tri tip.Tri tip is so easy to cook,and it's always tender(as long as you slice against the grain!)always tasty. If you want to serve gravy,add water to pan just before baking. Most tri tip are about the same size,so cooking time is for med well meat. Great on the grill also

Ingredients For tri tip roast

  • canola oil
  • tri tip roast
  • kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • ground garlic powder

How To Make tri tip roast

  • 1
    Season roast with salt,pepper and garlic.Let marinate several hours or overnight. Heat oil in a oven proof skillet. Sear meat in hot oil on all sides. Place in 350 degree oven. If roast will be served right away,bake for 1 hour,if roast will be reheated,bake for 45 min. Let stand 5-10 mins.Slice thinly across the grain.
