" the spice is right " chili

I love chili,but some are just too spicy and then there are some that are way too mild. So I wanted to try to come up with one that had the right amount of spice, and I think " The Spice is Right " with this one.If you try this I sure hope you enjoy it.Posted to Just A Pinch on August 9th.,2011.

Ingredients For " the spice is right " chili

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c
    finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1 14.5 oz. can
    of hunt's seasoned diced tomatoes for chili
  • 2 15.5 oz can
    pinto beans, drain one can
  • CHILI SEASONING
  • 1 Tbsp
    white flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    each of crushed red pepper flakes and sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    dried onions
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    each of dried garlic and ground cumin

How To Make " the spice is right " chili

    In a large dutch oven over medium heat,add ground beef,onion,and seasoned salt.

    Cook until beef is browned and onion is tender.

    After returning beef to pan,add tomatoes,beans, and chili seasonings.

    Stir well to combine ingredients and reduce heat to simmer.The longer the chili simmers the better the flavor.
