I believe this recipe came out of a Taste of Home magazine several years ago. My momma used to make this often. It makes a big platter so you could have it for a party or just invite a couple extra people over for supper. It is very good!

Ingredients For texas taco platter

2 lbground beef
-
1 lgonion, chopped
-
1 can(14 1/2 oz) diced tomotoes, undrained
-
1 can(12 oz) tomato paste
-
1 can(15 oz) tomato puree
-
2 Tbspchili powder
-
1 tspground cumin
-
1/2 tspgarlic powder
-
2 tspsalt
-
2 can(15 oz) ranch style beans, undrained
-
1 pkg(10 1/2 oz) corn chips
-
2 chot cooked rice
-
2 cshredded cheddar cheese
-
1 mdonion, chopped
-
1 mdhead iceburg lettuce, shredded
-
3 mdtomatoes, chopped
-
1 cansliced ripe olives, drained
-
1 cpicante sauce
How To Make texas taco platter

1In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add next seven ingredients; simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add beans and heat through.

2On a platter, layer corn chips, rice, meat mixture, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomatoes, and olives.

3Serve with picante sauce.
