Ingredients For texas hunter's stew

3 lbbeef or venison stew meat

1/2 lbbacon, chopped

6 mdpotatoes, cut into large pieces

2 lgonions, cut into large pieces

4 lgcarrots, peeled and cut into large pieces

1 can16-oz whole kernal corn, drained

2 can16-oz stewed tomatoes, cut up

1 can16-oz hominy, drained

1 lbokra, sliced, frozen or fresh

salt, pepper, and chili powder
How To Make texas hunter's stew

1Fry bacon in a large pan until crisp, remove bacon from pan, drain on paper towels. Set aside. Put stew meat in same pan and cook covered until tender, over low heat.

2When meat is tender, add potatoes, carrots and onions, salt, pepper and chili powder to taste(go easy on the seasonings they can be adjusted when stew is just about done) simmer until vegetables are just about tender now add the corn, tomatoes, hominy, okra and reserved bacon. Stir to mix and Simmer for one more hour.

3Serve with cornbread.
