Ingredients For texas hash

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 can tomatoes, 16 oz
  • 1 can tomato sauce, 8 oz
  • 1/3 cup rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
  • pinch black pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese

How To Make texas hash

  • 1
    In large pan, cook beef, onion, bell pepper til the beef is browned. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes til rice is done.

    Add cheese and cook til it melts. Serve with garlic bread and a green salad. Makes 4 servings. Note: Add mushrooms and green beans if desired.
