This one is a keeper. My family loves this one. I still make it for me and my husband. It can easily be doubled whIch I have done many times. It is a wonderful dish anytime of the year and very filling. I know you will love it and you can always add something of your own.

Ingredients For texas hash

  • 3 lg
    onions
  • 1 lg
    green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 c
    canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 c
    uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper

How To Make texas hash

    Heat oven to 350o
  • 2
    Sauté onion and green pepper in olive oil or oil of choice, until onions are yellow. Add meat and fry until mixture falls apart. Stir in rest of ingredients.

    Pour into greased 2 qt. casserole dish. Cover and bake 1 hr., removing cover last 15 min. Serve hot
