Ingredients For swiss steak

  • 1 1/2 lb round steak
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 2 t. oil
  • 2 cloves garlic,minced
  • 2 onions,sliced
  • 1 t. worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • dash hot sauce

How To Make swiss steak

  • 1
    Trim fat from the meat. Combine 1/4 t. salt and 1/4 t. pepper with flour. Season meat with salt and pepper. Divide flour in half and pound half of mixture into each side of steak. Heat oil in heavy skillet and brown meat quickly on both sides. Add remaining ingredients,cover,reduce to simmer and cook 2 hours or until meat is tender.
