sweet and sour meatballs

I found this in an old Taste of Home magazine. Something different for dinner and the ginger snaps are a surprise ingredient. very good and filling.

Ingredients For sweet and sour meatballs

3 mdeggs

1 mdonion chopped
-
1 1/2 cdry bread crumbs

1 tspsalt

2 lbground beef
-
2 Tbspvegetable oil
- SAUCE

3 1/2 ctomato juice
-
1 cbrown sugar
-
10ginger snaps, finely crushed

1/4 cwhite vinegar
-
1 tsponion salt
How To Make sweet and sour meatballs

1In a large bowl combine the eggs, onion,bread crumbs and salt. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.

2Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.

3In a large frying pan heat the oil and brown meatballs, in batches. Transfer to a greased 9x13 inch baking pan

4In a sauce pan combine all of the sauce ingredients, bring to a boil and stir until the cookie crumbs are completely dissolved

5Pour mixture over meatballs bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 35-40 minutes.
