This recipe was used at church when I was a child for father-daughter or mother-son dinners. Each church circle would make part of the meal, and seems my mom always made the meatballs and gravy (along with several other circle members.) Everyone who made meatballs and gravy would bring theirs to the church and 'meld' all together into large roaster pans. Everyone followed the same recipe. Other circles / members would make the mashed potatoes vegetables and jello salads, other circles/members would make desserts. This was our oldest daughter's "first meal from the table" when she was a baby.
