This is a family favorite of mine. The addition of the sauce gives it an interesting sweet and sour taste to the meat and rice. You can adjust the amounts of brown sugar and vinegar to suit your own taste. I hope you enjoy as much as we all do.

Ingredients For stuffed green peppers

4 mdgreen peppers

1 lbground beef
-
2 ccooked rice

1 cchopped onion

1 1/2 tspsalt

1/8 tsppepper

2- 8 oz cantomato sauce

1/3 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1/4 cvinegar
-
1 cshredded cheddar
How To Make stuffed green peppers

1Cut peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Carefully cut stem pieces off.

2Parboil peppers until a fork just pierces pepper. Drain completely. Arrange in 10X15 baking dish or size needed to put all peppers separated.

3Lightly brown ground beef and onion. Add salt, pepper, and cooked rice

4Mix remaining tomato sauce with brown sugar and vinegar in a saucepan until completely combined. Add 1/2 cup to ground beef mixture and mix well.

5Pile ground beef mixture into stuffed peppers. Pour remaining tomato sauce mixture evenly over stuffed peppers and top with cheese.

6Cover baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
