Ingredients For steak merlot

  • 4
    chop steaks
  • 3/4 bottle
    merlot wine
  • 1
    sweet onion i.e. maui, walla walla, vidallia
  • 1 lb
    mushrooms, sliced any variety you choose
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    granulated garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c
    beef stock, unsalted
  • 1 Tbsp
    corn starch

How To Make steak merlot

    Season Chop Steaks with salt, pepper, and Granulated Garlic
  • 2
    Heat large skillet add Olive Oil, Quick Sear Seasoned Chop Steaks on both sides and remove from skillet
  • 3
    Add onion, mushrooms, saute 5 minutes on medium heat.

    Return steaks to skillet, add enough Merlot to cover steaks, mushrooms and onions

    Simmer 40 minutes

    Add beef stock, return to simmer 5 minutes

    make a corn starch slurry with corn starch and water to thicken gravy, add to desired thickness
