I forget where I got this recipe but I tell you my family was glad that I did! It is simple and tastes great! And it is similar to lasagna without all the work! I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients For spaghetti pie
- CRUST

6 ozspaghetti
-
2 Tbspbutter or margarine
-
1/3 cgrated parmesan cheese
-
2eggs, well beaten
- FILLING

1 ccottage cheese
- MEAT TOPPING
-
1 lbground beef or bulk italian sausage (i use sometimes half of each)

1/2 cchopped onion
-
1/4 cgreen pepper
-
18 oz can diced tomatoes
-
16 oz can tomato paste
-
1 tspsugar
-
1 tspdried oregano, crushed
-
1/2 tspgarlic salt
- CHEESE TOPPING
-
1/2 cshredded mozzarella cheese (2 oz.)
How To Make spaghetti pie

1Cook the spaghetti according to package directions, drain. (3 cups) Stir butter or margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a crust in a buttered 10" pie plate.

2Spread cottage cheese over the spaghetti crust.

3In skillet cook ground beef, onion and green pepper till vegetables are tender and meat is brown. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, paste, oregano, sugar, and garlic salt. Heat through.

4Turn mixture into crust. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese atop. Bake 5 minutes longer, till cheese melts.

5Serve with garlic bread and a fresh tossed salad. Enjoy!
