Ingredients For southwestern shepherd's pie

  • 2 1/2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 1/14 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 (16) oz
    jar old el paso thickn'chunky salsa
  • 1(16) oz
    can bush chili beans(mild sauce)
  • 1(16) oz
    birds eye frozen sweet corn,thawed
  • !/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 tsp
    granulated garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 pkg
    instant mashed potatoes
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar

How To Make southwestern shepherd's pie

    In a skillet with 1 table spoon of butter brown ground beef and onion.In a large bowl mix the salsa chili beans,corn,ketchup, granulated garlic and salt.Add ground beef and onion.

    Mix well.Grease a 9 by13 inch casserole dish and spead the mixture evenly in pan.

    Mix the packs of potatoes according to the package.Spread the potatoes over the top of the mixture and sprinkle with cheese.Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
