so many Italian beef recipes used packaged Italian dressing and I didn't always have that on hand. I came up with this years ago and it has been a hit ever since. You can also add red pepper flakes if you like a little more 'kick'

Ingredients For slow cooker italian beef

  • 5-6 lb
    beef chuck roast
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley flakes
  • 2 Tbsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 clove
    garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    beef bouillon
  • 1 jar
    peppercini with juice
  • 6 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    basil, dried

How To Make slow cooker italian beef

  • 1
    mix all ingredients in a crock-pot and cook on high for 5 hours or until beef shreds easily. Shred beef and put back into crock and cook an additional hour. remove bay leaves and serve on hard rolls. Top with cheese is desired.
