How To Make slow cooked chuck roast dinner

1I cook my roasts in a 6 qt. Nesco electric roaster. You can just as easily cook in the oven with a lid on, at 325° for about the same length of time.
-
2Drizzle a little olive oil in pan on high heat. Rub Mrs. Dash generously on both sides of roast. Sear both sides. Turn down to 300-325°, add enough water to come almost to the top of roast. Flip roast over once an hour till tenderness desired. Add more water if necessary as roast cooks.

3You can use this recipe for roasting veggies, just coat with olive oil, sprinkle with Mrs. Dash and roast 375° for one hour. https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/side/potatoes/spicy-oven-roasted-veggies.html?p=1

4For mashed potatoes: peel russet potatoes, cut into large pieces. Cover with water and boil without lid until a fork goes through them easily. Drain, add 1/4-1/2 c of butter, salt and pepper to taste and smash. Now if needed, add a little milk at a time to reach consistency desired.

5This is a delicious brown gravy recipe. Add water or milk to your roast broth if necessary to make 4 c.https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/sauce-spread/gravy/basic-brown-gravy.html?p=1
